NatureCity Festival is a week-long festival featuring 50+ events to help you discover, explore and experience nature in Saskatoon!
We invite urban residents, students, families, urban planners, artists, educators, community leaders, businesses and organizations to explore the vital role of nature in our prairie city and life.
NatureCity Festival is a de-centralized festival, consisting of 50+ nature-inspired events spread across Saskatoon held over a week-long period, hosted in collaboration with countless individuals and community organizations.
NatureCity Festival is your opportunity to explore the vitality of urban nature in our city through experiential events, workshops, dynamic speakers, guided tours, citizen science projects, music, art, performance and more!
We want to show off the wild side of the Saskatoon: the magnificent river valley, parks, conservation areas, gardens and urban forests, together with the fascinating creatures and native plants that surround us. Celebrate the assets and diversity of nature in Saskatoon and deepen your understanding, appreciation and access to urban nature through experience, exploration and education.
We respectfully acknowledge that NatureCity Festival is situated on Treaty 6 territory and traditional lands of First Nations and Métis people. As we engage in place-based and land-based education and experiences, it is important that we pay our respects both to the land and to the First Nations and Métis ancestors of this place and reaffirm our relationship with one another. As stated by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, we strive in our work to acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past as a way to move toward a healthier future, with “relationships embedded in mutual recognition and respect”, and actively working against colonization. Find out more about why this is important here.
